AGARTALA, June 29 (TIWN): Eid festival has turned gloomy due to the tragic mishap happened yesterday during Rath Jatra festival in Kumarghat. The entire state is mourning over the devastating incident. Nationally this incident has not only broadcasted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced ex-gratia for the victims. Tripura Govt is also helping the people who were victimized by the incident. In a horrifying incident, 7 persons died and 6 are serious with burn injuries in Kumarghat after during Ratha Yatra festival electric wire had fallen on the iron made Rath structure (chariot) on Wednesday. Many human bodies were seen burnt alive, whereas many were screaming while trapped inside the Rath. People were screaming seeing the devastating scenario and bodies were set on fire and few trapped inside the Rath were screaming for help.
Talking to the eye-witnesses, they said the Rath is iron made and that’s why the electricity accident happened.
Tripura Govt has ordered an inquiry over the incident. It has been question, why the power-cut was not ordered during the festival ?
