The incident took place on Friday evening in Mungiakami area under Teliamura subdivision.

Since Friday afternoon, severe thunderstorms with rain started across the entire state along with Teliyamura sub-division. At that time Buddhalakshmi Debbarma and her daughter-in-law Surbala Debbarma along with Buddhalaxmi Debbarma's 13-year-old grandson Piyush Debbarma were in their house in Mungiakami.

But suddenly lightning struck their living room. The three people in the house were seriously injured by this lightning. Hearing their screams, the people of the area rushed to their home and immediately rescued the injured persons and took them to Mungiakami Hospital.

When they were taken there, the doctor on duty immediately referred them to Teliamura sub-district hospital for better treatment as their condition was serious. Currently, the injured are being treated in the emergency department of Teliamura sub-district hospital.

 One day back, a person died due to lightning in Teliamura subdivision.
