AGARTALA, June 5 (TIWN): CPI-M’s wing CITU held a protest rally in Agartala on Monday voicing against slashing of social pensions for many people and terminations of Anganwadi workers. A deputation was placed to the Social Welfare Dept in this regard at Abhoy Nagar. Speaking at the occasion, former Minister Manik Dey said that people will not forgive these days and if BJP thinks that opposition has turned silent, it’s wrong prediction. “We thought, the BJP Govt will take a lesson after last 5 years of misruling and down of public votes but it’s now clear that the BJP Govt’s attitude has not changed. It is as same as before”, said Manik Dey. CPI-M leaders representing the party's wing met the authority and placed few demands before him regarding the raised issue.
Manik Dey also said, “Now, it’s your rule but one day it will be over because people will not forgive you. We are not afraid. You may torture us but we are not scared”.
