AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): Amid "Nesha Mukt Tripura" mission and everyday police’s success over drug-raids, the department is far from total elimination of drugs in this society.
There are regular death reports due to Drug abuses and most of them are youths.
Whereas Uttar Pradesh remains at the top position in Ganja consumption, Tripura is also not lagging behind in illegal drug consumption in the Northeastern states.
A recent report claimed that in Tripura not only youths but teenagers are too targets of the drug-mafias.
The report also had shown that West District has been in the worst position in this Drug-net.
Police seized 52 Kg dry Cannabis from Bhagalpur area under Airport PS during an anti-narcotics operation late on Sunday night. The operation was led under the leadership of Vikas Debbarma, an official of Airport PS.
Police took a case against the two accused under NDPS Act.
