AGARTALA, March 26 (TIWN): A total of 9 people including women and children were injured after a mad stray Dog bites 9 including 4 children in Manik Bazar and Sharma Camp area. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon in Manik Bazar and Sharma Camp area under Teliamura PS.

It is reported that a mad dog was roaming in Manik Bazar area from Sunday afternoon and the mad dog had bitten and injured a total of 9 people including 4 children and women in Manik Bazar and Sharma Camp area. Later, the local residents along with the family members of the injured rescued the injured and brought them to Teliamura sub-district hospital. At present, the 9 people who were injured after a mad stray dog bites are undergoing treatment in the emergency department of Teliamura Sub-divisional Hospital.  

On the other hand, according to local sources, the people of the area beat the mad dog to death to save them from the mad dog.

The rampage of the mad dog continued in Manik Bazar and Sharma Camp areas for about two hours. Although, the news of this incident should have reached the administrative authorities by that time, no action has been taken by the administration, according to local sources. As a result, there was an atmosphere of panic erupted in the entire area for long hours.
