AGARTALA, Feb 20 (TIWN): On the Assembly Poll Day of Feb-16, at polling station No. 26 of Srinathpur Gram Panchayat of 53-Kailasahar Assembly, someone had put a black tube on the symbol of the Congress party in the EVM.

A written application was given by the Congress party for re-polling at Polling Station No. 26. But the District Election Commission rejected this claim of the Congress party. Such an incident took place inside the polling station, but no case was filed by the administration or the presiding officer against this incident.

Finally, the presiding officer of polling station No. 26 filed a written case in Irani PS on February 19, on Sunday afternoon and the Police of Irani PS registered the case at the PS.

In this regard, Kailasahar SDPO Dhruv Nath said that after receiving the case on February 19, the police arrested Mainul Haque of Srinathpur village on February 20 at noon based on this case, under Sections 125, 131 and 136. The official also said that the police sent Moinul Haque to the Kailasahar court on February 20.
