AGARTALA, Feb 6 (TIWN): Opposition CPIM-Congress leaders led by Jitendra Choudhury and Sudip Roy Barman jointly met with the CEO of Election Commission raising the issue of ongoing Pre-Poll Violence at various places in Tripura. While briefing before media, CPIM State Secretary Jitendra Choudhury said, the initiative EC or CEO has taken of Zero Poll Violence is appreciable, but it feels as if the ruling party BJP does not following the rule and now challenging the EC as such types of incidents, violence, attacks are happening everyday.
CEO Kiran Gitte has reportedly ensured to take initiative so that the Voters can cast their votes peacefully and fearlessly. The officials those who are showing a soft corner towards the ruling BJP party, their names were mentioned to the EC, stated Choudhury.
CEO also ensured the opposition that the commission will take action against the officials if found involved in such activities.
Congress MLA Sudip Barman said that they are hopeful that EC will take initiative accordingly.
