AGARTALA, Jan 21 (TIWN): A 33-year-old youth named Jaharlal Debbarma was shot while cutting coconut leaves from a forest near his house.

The incident occurred in Gajapara area under Sidhai police station on Saturday. Hearing injured Jaharlal Debbarma’s screaming, the family rescued him and took him to the local Hospital. But the Doctors on duty referred him to GB Hospital for better treatment.

Jaharlal Debbarma is currently under treatment at GB Hospital with serious injuries. The sister of the injured youth said that they do not know anything about who shot Jawaharlal and why? Speaking to the media, it was said that the bullet was not removed from his body.

Centering the gunshot incident ahead of the Assembly Poll, it has spread fear among the local people.
