Agartala, January 17 (TIWN): A youth was arrested today in connection with abduction of a minor girl from her house of Jagaharimura. The minor girl was recovered from Matinagar bordering area along Indo-Bangla border, outskirt of capital city Agartala this morning.
According to police, 20-year-old boy was identified as Sudip Saha, resident of College Chowmohani at Jirania. The minor girl, a student of class-VIII fell in love with Sudip few months back. Taking the chance of her love, they eloped from their houses to knot the tie without informing anybody a month back, said police.
Police further said her parents filed a missing diary with East Agartala Women police station on the very next day of the incident. After a long chase, police of East Agartala Women police station today recovered the minor girl from a house of Matinagar area, outskirt of Agartala. The police also booked the youth in this connection.
“However, it is not yet clear that they got married or not. They would be produced before the court today and then the minor girl will be handed over to her parents”, said police.
