AGARTALA, Dec 14 (TIWN): Tripura Trinamool Congress has submitted a written complaint to the Human Rights Commission seeking a probe into the police’s increasing attacks on common men. Reacting to SDPO Ajay Kumar Das’s statement that pregnant women and Patients should not participate in agitations, TMC MP Sushmita Dev said that Police can not say what should citizens do and how to get jobs. Police’s duty is to give protection to the citizens of the state.
“Human Rights Commission must validate whether there was any human right’s violation or not on that day. The way the job aspirants were beaten up and the rising attempts of police violence are not healthy for democracy”, said Sushmita Dev, Trinamool MP.
The statement came after over 40 job aspirants were left injured by police on 13th December after they gheraoed Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s house demanding jobs.
