AGARTALA, Dec 13 (TIWN): Instead of apology, Police remained strict to support its unnecessary brutality on the peacefully agitating unemployed youths who were protesting in front of Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s house. SDPO Sadar Ajay Kumar Das was asked about lathi-charge on pregnant women, and kidney patients. In reply he suggested that such pregnant women, kidney patients should not participate in such protests as a pregnant woman is carrying two lives. Although there was no evidence that the STGT qualified candidates sat on road, but the SDPO claimed that he got report that the agitators blocked road after the Minister left.
However, he also stated that he has no evidence of all these and just based on allegations and reports he is saying this.
He also alleged that due to election such incidents are increasing and various “channels” are informing different things.
Media persons were on the spot everywhere during the incident but not a single footage could claim that the agitators blocked road. And if they had blocked road, they could be arrested ? Which law of Indian constitution permits lathi-charge on peacefully agitating youths.
STGT candidates were agitating in front of Ratan Lal Nath’s home on Monday when this police brutality had taken place.
