AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): Contrabands are entering the state from outside the state using the railway. A large amount of Phensedyl was recovered from the Kanchenjunga Express.

Agartala GRP was able to seize a large quantity of narcotic cough syrup from a coach of the Kanchenjunga Express based on a tip-off.  Total of 1595 Escuff bottles in 10 cartons were recovered.

OC Sanjit Sen said that this operation was conducted on the orders of the GRP Superintendent of Police.

A large quantity of drug-like cough syrups was recovered after searching in packed cloth bags.

A young man named Prasenjit Debnath has been arrested. The OC said that the GRP has taken up a specific case and started the investigation.
