AGARTALA, Dec 11 (TIWN): GB Hospital which is the main referral hospital of Tripura and also considered the biggest hospital is suffering due to an infrastructure related crisis. Patients are waiting in the row for 3 to 4 hours due to the non-functional X-Ray machines. Infact on-duty Doctor informed media that they are facing such situations very often. The problem is mainly about the plates of the X-Ray machines which are slowly functioning. At night hours only one X-Ray machine remains operational. As a result, patients are suffering and the patient parties are facing a lot of harassment.
Such infrastructure related problems, however, are not uncommon in Tripura Govt hospitals but in other hospitals also health officials, patient parties are complaining about a similar situation.
Media persons face always very tough time to report from inside the hospital as the authority does not allow media to enter whereas it’s media’s role and also right to expose the situation of the hospitals and the people are getting the services.
Labs were privatized in Tripura Govt hospitals after the BJP Govt came to power but no major development came since then, rather the Govt job opportunities in labs have been decreased due to the privatization.
