AGARTALA, Dec 10 (TIWN): A young man was killed by two youths by calling from home on Friday night in Khowai. The incident occurred in Khowai, Ward No.- 14 and the name of the dead youth is Manik Das.

The police arrested two youths on Saturday morning involved in this incident. The arrested youths are Madhav Das (Madhu)34 years old and Raju Oriya (43). The arrested youths are residents of the same area. In this murder incident, the police of Khowai PS took up a case of murder. The arrested youths were taken to the court on Saturday afternoon seeking a five-day police remand.

Sushmita Ghosh, the wife of the dead youth, told the media that at around 10 o'clock on Friday night, the local youth Madhav Das called Manik on his mobile phone and asked him to meet with them. And around 11:30 pm her husband returned home with his head and body bandaged. The injured husband later told his wife that Madhav, Raju and several others from the area had severely beaten him up in front of the former Assam Rifles camp.

A policeman rushed him to the hospital in a bloody state. At around 2 am Manik Das was taken to the hospital again by his wife and a neighbour after noticing Manik felt very sick. He died shortly after being taken to the Hospital.

The exact reason why Manik Das was taken away from home and killed is not known. Manik has left his wife and son behind. This incident spread a lot of excitement in the area.
