AGARTALA, Dec 6 (TIWN): On various demands Governor Pensioners Association Tripura (GPAT) organised a press meet. The demands were raised mainly- All pensioners of Tripura Government shall be paid pension with arrears at revised rates as per Central Govt. A minimum pension of Rs 9, 000 per month should be paid as per Central Government. The outstanding 30 % relief should be granted immediately.
Demands raised, the recipients will have to pay the full pension as per the court verdict, those who were retired between 2006 and 2008 after twenty five years of service. Provision should be made to give pension through Grameen Bank. Demand raised, Naya Nation Act should be repealed and defined benefit pension scheme should be introduced as before. Pensioners will have to fully reimburse the medical expenses of critical diseases.
The GPAT raised, Monthly medical allowance should be given Rs 2,000, and Geriatric ward should be set up in hospitals for treating the old age patients. Increasing commodity prices should be controlled.
Demands also raised that Purified drinking water should be provided throughout the state.
