AGARTALA, Nov 30 (TIWN): Tipra Indigenous Students Federation (TISF), ADC ruling party Tipra Motha student wing slammed the BJP Govt over its failure to uplift the Kokborok language through Education and BJP backed ABVP’s goondaraj in Tripura Colleges. Raising these issues along with similar other issues Tipra Motha student wing gheraoed Education Dept for the first time since the party’s formation. As a solution to the problem, Tipra Motha demanded 50% reservation for ST students in Student Councils, alleging BJP and ABVP are trying to disturb the harmony among various communities of students in colleges.
Talking to the media, a TISF leader said, “Today either CBSE or Tripura board, both are forcing students to write Kokorok language in Bengali totally side-lining the main demand of Tiprasa students. We are not against any community but by doing these, the BJP Govt is desperately creating further problems. Also, 50% Reservation in College Councils should be given to ST students as BJP trying to instigate Communal disturbances in Colleges”.
On November 28, with similar issues, the Tipra Motha student wings held protests across Tripura.
Referring Belonia College violence, TISF also alleged that there is a continuous rise in College violence and BJP, ABVP are trying to disturb the peace in state's Colleges.
