AGARTALA, Nov 20 (TIWN): Amid CM Manik Saha's statement today that law and order situation is very good in Tripura right now, safety of people remains constantly on question marks.
A woman (teacher) named Manasha Sarkar took an auto to visit Mohanpur IS from Nepali Basti area on 17th Nov. After reaching the Tulabagan area the auto driver turned his auto into the Bypass area. During the journey, an unknown man who was inside the auto and tried to snatch the woman’s Gold chain from her neck and also beat her brutally along with the auto driver. Somehow the woman escaped from the situation but the auto driver took her bag. Both the driver and the unknown man were involved in the crime, which was probably pre-planned.
After the incident, the woman was injured critically and was taken to Mohanour Hospital. A case was also reported at Lefunga PS, and Police accordingly detained the accused auto driver named Biplab Das of Nehal Chandra Nagar, Bishalgarh. Also Cash amount was recovered from him.
The auto identified as bearing number TR072134.
