AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): Amid tall claims on law and order improvement, Tripura’s practical scenarios are totally different. In various places, instead of police, local people are setting for night duties which happened to be back in 70’s or 80’s era when robbers, cross-border crimes were on rise.
On Tuesday night, public were spotted guarding their own area to keep them safe from thieves in Bamutia as Police failed to control the increasing theft incidents there.
It has been decided by the Bazar committee that in roster system people will be guarding the areas. From Tuesday night, the system has been launched.
It is alleged that the shops in the market are not at all safe and every night due to thieves there are repeated instances of thefts. In such a situation, public decided to guard the area to get rid of thieves.
