AGARTALA, Nov 14 (TIWN): Congress organized a press meet at Congress Bhawan Agartala, where Congress MLA Sudip Barman lashed out at BJP for adopting new rules in providing Social Pension and alleged BJP of cheating with state’s people with various fake assurances. While briefing in the Press meet Congress MLA Sudip Barman lambasted the new rule of BJP Govt in providing Old Age Pension. He stated that on Nov 4 new rules have circulated that School Certificate or Madhyamik Admit or Birth Certificate have to be provided as age Proof. Over this MLA Sudip Barman raised question that from where the 70-80 Years old age people would bring Madhayamik Certificate or School Certificate? He also said, earlier Social Pension was given based on I-card, Ration Card, Aadhar Card’s age proof.

Barman mocked the BJP’s assurance of setting up a Dam in the Howrah River so that the City of Agartala doesn’t get water logged after rain. The project was advertised but could not be started by the Govt. 

He also raised the issue of deteriorated Law and Order situation in the state.

The Congress MLA announced that from November 19 Congress will go for ’Bharat Jodo, Tripura Bachao’ Abhiyan across the state to save Democracy.

The protest will also voice against price hikes of necessary commodities, Unemployment and address many other burning issues.
