AGARTALA, Nov 3 (TIWN): 2100 kg Cannabis was recovered after 1190 kg, that too on the same day with an hour gap of 6 hours. The incident occurred at Hawai Bari Naka Point under Teliamura PS around Wednesday evening.
Teliamura PS police had secret information that an oil tanker register No- WB39D7281 was smuggling cannabis worth over crores of rupees to other states in the oil tanker. Accordingly, Teliamura Police Officer-in-Charge Subrata Chakraborty ordered the other officials to conduct check.
On the basis of that secret meeting the police of Teliamura PS seized that vehicle. The Teliamura PS police recovered a large quantity of Cannabis by searching the oil transport vehicle. . The quantity of recovered Cannabis is 2100 kg.
The driver and co-driver Kari Pasyan and Nilesh Kumar respectively were arrested and both are residents of Bihar.
The police started an investigation after detaining them. Teliamura police officer in charge Subrata Chakraborty said that this kind of anti-drug operation will continue in the coming days.
