AGARTALA, Oct 25 (TIWN): Cyclone, rain have ruined the hope of the small-scale businessmen in Udaipur Matabari on Monday who were expecting profits on Deepabali centering the festival in Matabari. Shop-keepers who sell ‘peda’ (bhog) for Tripura Sundari Goddess are facing heavy losses due to bulks of food items they had prepared for the Deepabali festival. Same suffering was shared by the sellers who opened stalls for Deepabati, and also hawkers who stocked massive quantities of items for the Deepabali festival in Matabari.
Talking to a shop-keeper who came to Udaipur from Agartala said, his shop is almost damaged due to rain. Rain water entered his shop and marred the business temperament.
“I purchased around 50,000 rupees items but no hope for business at all. I am just hopeless and devastated”, the shop-keeper said with tears in eyes.
