AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): A Bangladeshi citizen has been detained by local residents, the incident took place at Gokulnagar Rastarmatha area under Bishalgarh police station.
Locals said that on Wednesday afternoon, a middle aged man came from Madhupur by an auto to Gokulnagar Rastarmatha area and after getting down from the auto refused to pay the rent.
Later, when the locals spoke to him, he told them that he is a resident of Narsingdi area of Bangladesh. Seeing suspicion, the locals informed the Bishalgarh PS Police and handed him over to the Bishalgarh PS. The police arrested him from the spot and brought him to the police station.
It is noted that Bangladeshi Nationals are entering India illegally through the border. In this regard, questions have started to arise about the role of BSF jawans including Madhupur police station.
