AGARTALA, Sep 21 (TIWN): CPIM supporters and workers were attacked by BJP miscreants in front of Udaipur Girls School on their way from Qilla to Udaipur Jamtala to participate in CPIM's public meeting. A Bolero Vehicle was vandalised.
A total of 11 people including women were injured and all of them belong from Janajati community. Immediately they were taken to Gomti District Hospital. On getting the news of the incident, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Manik Sarkar rushed to Udaipur, Gomti District Hospital to inquire about the affected workers.
Later, Opposition leader Manik Sarkar expressed anger on state government and questioned on the role of police. Over the attack Sarkar alleged that Police knew about the attack and the attack was organised on CPIM workers in presence of Police.
