AGARTALA, Sep 16 (TIWN): Local people in Barjala on Friday staged a protest against the water logging problems of Agartala city. The whole area was seen submerged due to heavy water logging problems. Getting information about the protest, local MLA Dilip Das rushed to the spot and dumped all blame on the 25 years ruling Left Govt whereas the locals said, the problems started in last 3 years only and before that there was no water-logging problem in the city. The MLA asked people to leave their land areas so that drains can be constructed.
However, on being asked about the timeline of completing the drain project, the MLA said, he can not guarantee about it.
Locals said, if their problem is not resolved then in coming days, they will launch larger protests.
