AGARTALA, Sep 9 (TIWN): Heavy teachers’ crisis continues across Tripura schools. In protest against teachers’ shortages, students of Bilthai H.S. School have blocked National Highway in Panisgagar on Friday. Such protests have turned into daily incidents in Tripura as various schools’ students are organizing protests with the same issue that is teachers’ crisis. Talking to students, one of the agitating students said, “We are already suffering heavily due to teachers’ crisis but instead of giving us more numbers of teachers, teachers are being transferred. Now our chemistry teacher Amitabha Sir has been transferred. We will not tolerate this. We demand withdrawal of his transfer order immediately”.
Due to the blockade vehicles were stuck for hours on both sides of the protest spot.
Tripura right now is loaded with over 3,500 TET qualified unemployed youths but the recruitment process is at a very slow motion.
