KALYANPUR, Sep 4 (TIWN): Increasing wood smuggling has been reported in Kalyanpur, Teliamura subdivision but the role of the Forest Dept remained fully unsatisfactory.
Various expensive woods are slashed by chopping the tree making the forest empty. Shawl, teak, gamai etc trees are massively cut off.
The vehicles which are used for smuggling always rush recklessly, causing accidents.
Although sometimes, raids are done by Forest Dept, the Dept has totally failed to control the illegal smuggling.
