AGARTALA, Sep 2 (TIWN): 10323 teachers on Friday developed a legal argument with the Education Director Chandni Chandran regarding their termination status. The argument erupted after the Director informed the teachers that they were terminated on legal grounds in a common termination (clubbed judgement) based on 2003’s New-Education-Policy. It slashed all jobs starting from 2002 to 2009’s all 10323 teachers’ jobs. Then the 10323 teachers asked the question abo other teachers’ jobs from 2002 to till TET exam started in Tripura. Commenting that this issue is very much complicated, the Director reportedly sought 14 days time which means 2 weeks.
After the meeting, one of the 10323 teachers said, “10323 teachers have continued the battle. Many of our colleagues are going to school, whereas many teachers are not allowed to join. Today, as per Director’s order we met her and we have placed our issue before her and told her that our jobs were not gone, but she said that we are terminated under a clubbed judgement. Of course, we are targets of clubbed judgement but what about other teachers recruited from 2002 violating New-Education-Policy?”
However, based on the reply of the Director which is expected to come after 14 days, the 10323 teachers will decide what to do next.
