DHARMANAGAR, Aug 15 (TIWN): Two teenagers drowned together while bathing in the river on Independence Day.
The dead two teenagers are Subhrajit Nama (15) and Saurabh Nama (14).
They were studying in 8th and 9th standard.
Both of their homes are in Patekrai village. The incident happened in Ward No. 5 of Patekrai village panchayat under Kadamtala police station of North district.
Police took up a case of unusual death and handed over the dead body to the family after post-mortem.
It is learned that on Monday, Subhrajit and Saurabh were returning home after participating in an Independence Day procession at the local Patekara school. But before reaching home, both of them took off their school clothes and went to the river to bathe in the Kakari river. After a long time, they did not return home, and the concerned family of both of them started searching.
The firemen reached the spot and searched the river and first rescued Sourabh and then Subhrajit. The doctors on duty declared them dead.
Meanwhile, the police of Kadamtala police station have registered a case of unusual death and started investigating.
