AGARTALA, Aug 12 (TIWN): On the basis of secret information, the forest department seized a vehicle with illegal sawn timber while the smuggling were smuggling them. The incident took place in the Thrangnai Bazar area of Hawaibari under the Teliamura Forest Department in the early Thursday Morning.

It is known that the Teliamura Forest Department had secret information about a vehicle illegally smuggling sawn timber from the deep forest of Thrangnai Bazar area located under the Teliamura Forest Department. Based on this secret information the forest department personnel sit in the Thrangnai market area to seize the sawn timber.

Noticing the Forest Department staff, the driver left the vehicle loaded with illegal sawn timber and ran away. The forest department staff recovered the illegal sawn timber along with the vehicle and brought it to the Teliamura Range office.

It is reported that the market value of recovered sawn wood will be approximately Rs 35 to 40 thousand.
