KHOWAI, Aug 10 (TIWN): CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury on Wednesday lambasted the BJP’s new trend of using the national flag while attacking the opposition and doing hooliganism behind the 'Azadika Amrit-Mahotsav' banner. Jitendra Chowdhury said, the anti-social elements carrying national flags and launching attacks on people, is itself a shame for the democracy. "They are using nation flags to snatch democratic rights of people in this fee nation. Our nation has given everyone equal right to protest, organize rallies but today under the BJP Govt, democracy is murdered and to cover it up, Govt and its party is using “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to display fake patriotism", said Chowdhury.
“We had taken permission from the Police and huge numbers of security forces were also deployed but when the BJP goons came, police miserably failed to control the situation because the SDPO had surrendered in front of the hooligans. This is a shame for the democracy”, said Jitendra Chowdhury.
