AGARTALA, Aug 10 (TIWN): Tripura former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Wednesday while addressing a seminar organized by SFI, TSU ahead of 75th Independence Day said the Indian Freedom History has not gone into its depth to depict, in what circumstances demand of total freedom was raised.
Manik Sarkar raised the question of why did Congress take so much time from 1885 to 1929 to raise the total freedom demand? He said the demand would have never been raised if the Communists by using Congress’s dais had raised the total freedom demand.
“Communist’s role was to wake up the Indians for freedom. Full freedom slogan was thus raised by the Communists only. But this historical truth was suppressed with an intention. If one goes to the depth of Indian freedom, then s/he can understand the role of Communists was huge to awaken the Indians”, added Sarkar.
