AGARTALA, Aug 9 (TIWN): Irresponsible role of Power Department pushed a family under ‘Life Risk’. High voltage power lines hanging over Tapas Saha's house in Chaumuni Para area of Dakshin Charilam village Panchayat. Reportedly, an electric Pole is adjacent to Tapas Saha's house remained in leaning condition and the Pole is overgrown with trees and foliage.
Several times Tapas Saha informed the matter to Bishramganj Electric Office and Charilam Call Center to remove the high power transmission line from above his house but nothing has happened till today. Oppositely it was informed from the Bishramganj Electric Office that Tapas Saha will have to bear all the expenses to remove the high voltage conductor. But Tapas Saha, who drives a passenger auto to support his family, cannot afford this huge sum of money.
If the high voltage power line is not removed from this place, then it may break down at any time and cause a major accident, life loss may occur.
It is to be noted that one person died along with at least nine others were injured in Barajala area under Bishramganj PS after a high-powered electricity cable was snapped last Friday. Locals are asking for the intervention of Power Minister and local MLA Jishnu Dev Barman so that this kind of incident does not happen again.
However, it has now remained to be seen what initiative the Power Department will take to save the family.
