AGARTALA, Aug 8 (TIWN): A 27-year-old housewife named Pooja Das committed suicide by hanging herself at her house after being tortured by her husband. The incident took place in Banikya Chowmuhani area. It is known that Vishweshwar Das a resident of Banikya Chowmuhani area married with Pooja Das, a resident of Lankamura area 3 years ago, but since the marriage her husband started torturing her physically and mentally.

Seeing no way to get rid from husband’s torture, the housewife committed suicide after being fed up from husband's torture. Later, Pooja’s parents rushed to her in-laws house and broke down after noticing Pooja's dead body.

The bride’s family filed a written complaint at local PS. Later, the police arrested the husband and took him to the police station. It is known that the housewife has left a child behind.
