AGARTALA, Aug 8 (TIWN): The drug trade in Tripura has increased rampantly which is destroying the Youth Society, resulting youths losing their life untimely due to overuse of drugs. It is alleged that drug dealers from various areas are coming into Battala area and selling contraband items in front of Battala outpost. Whenever the local Battala traders suppress them, the drug dealers allegedly threaten the local drug dealers to stab them with sharp weapons. Allegations also raised that the drug dealers have been snatching and stealing public belongings.

The local traders alleged that in front of Battala outpost the drug dealers sell contraband items and Police role is mute spectator.

Over the suffocating situation in Battala area the local traders gheraoed Battala Outpost demanded stern action against the drug dealers, they also demanded the drugs dealer should get severe punishment.

Unlike former CM Biplab Deb, new CM Manik Saha too failed to make the state Tripura ‘Drugs Free’.
