AGARTALA, Aug 8 (TIWN): On 16 points demands Congress called for a strike in three districts of Tripura- North, Unokoti and Dhalai District.

Accordingly since Morning Congress workers and supporters started picketing in Dharmanagar in support of the Strike. A rally was started from the District Congress Bhawan in Dharmanagar and went around various streets of the city and finally the procession came in front of the office of the District Magistrate of North District.

In support of today's strike after raising slogans against the central government's repression and black law, the Police arrested the Congress supporters and took them to the temporary jail of Chinta Lohar Sadan in Haflong.

The strike was called against increasing price hike of necessary commodities, and under Modi Era repression is going on, the Congress demanded for Peaceful Strike but the Govt didn’t give Permission. However, the Strike is yet successful, said Congress member Kebal Nandi before the media.
