AGARTALA, July 21 (TIWN): Accusing the Modi Govt of burdening the common men with excessive electricity charges, the All India Electricity Consumers Association (AIECA) has protested against the coal policy of India Govt which is allegedly forcing the power companies to purchase coals at an expensive price from outside.
Addressing the media Convenor of AIECA Sanjoy Chowdhury said, “Instead of coal productions, the Govt of India is forcing power companies to purchase coals at a high expense which is the reason behind heavy electricity bills. Only the Adani group benefited from that. We also oppose the new amendment on Electricity-2021”.
The AIECA protested against the low voltage, and power cut problems in Tripura, and demanded power connections to all households.
