AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): A housewife named Payal Chowhan Acharjee of Lal Bahadur area, Agartala got married with Rajib Acharjee of Teliamura, Chandaipara area 9 years ago. Soon after the marriage the husband started torturing her demanding dowry, often the husband tortures Payal demanding to bring money from her house.

On Monday the criminal husband tortured her inhumanely and to get rid from husband she escaped through window and took shelter at Ambassa PS.

The Ambassa PS Police took her to Kulai Hospital from where she was referred to GB Hospital for better treatment.

It is known that the husband Rajib Acharjee works in the Health Department and the couple has a 6 years old daughter.
