AGARTALA, May 30 (TIWN): Communist Left Front on Monday announced four candidates’ names for the upcoming by-polls of June 23rd, appealing the people to vote for the Left Front to ensure that the people are with truth and democracy. The candidates in four constituencies are : 1) Krishna Majumder (Agartala-6), 2) Town Bordowali (Raghunath Sarkar), 3) Sailendra Chandra Nath (Jubarajnagar), 4) Anjan Das (Surma). CPI-M leader, ex-MP Narayan Kar has announced the candidates names.
Addressing media, CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury said, “The candidates may not be popular but they are connected to the soil and local people know them individually”.
Talking about the expectations from the Election Commission, Jitendra Chowdhury said Left Front is confident that this election will be free and fair as the Election Commission officer is positive towards the appeal of the opposition about the free and fair poll. Chowdhury also said that the CEO is also aware about the previous elections’ rigging and violence.
Tripura by-poll to be held on 23rd June and the results will be published on 26th June.
