AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress held protest rally in Belonia against rising prices of essential commodities. Former West Bengal minister and Trinamool Congress leader Rajiv Banerjee along with Trinamool Congress president Subal Bhowmik and other leaders joined the protest procession.
Strict police surveillance was in place to prevent untoward incidents in Trinamool Congress processions and meetings. However, the Trinamool Congress was able to hold the procession and the programme in Belonia without any incident.
The rally started from 1 No. Tila and the TMC activist walked various areas like Bank Road, Jagannath Bari Road, Thana road, BKI Corner, Girls School Road, Kalinagar Road, Rajiv Corner and ended in 1 No. Tila. TMC leader Rajiv Banerjee and TMC president Subal Bhowmik delivered speeches at the meeting and criticized the state ruling BJP Govt. Besides, the TMC leaders appealed to the public to join TMC.
