KAMALPUR, May 23 (TIWN): BJP is reeling under organizational crisis across Tripura, and from time to time various protests are erupting in the state due to infighting. With a similar cause, a protest was held in Kamalpur Durga Chowmuhani after a BAC chairman was recruited from Salema Block. The protest was held by BJP workers themselves saying they will not allow any BAC chairman from outside. There are 6 Village Committees under the Durga Chowmuhani block. The agitators asked, why nobody could be recruited from these 6 Village Committees ? Now they have demanded that from these Village Committees the chairman should be recruited.
In protest, the BJP workers had blocked the block office calling the new BAC chairman an outsider.
The chairman is now Debaprasad Debbarma of Chankap Panchayat under Salema Block. Now, the BJP members have demanded his immediate replacement.
