AGARTALA, May 18 (TIWN): A journalist named Nitai Dey was arrested illegally by Police of East Agartala PS and kept him inside lockup, did not serve any food and even no water after an issue erupted with a police official in a petrol pump while he was covering petrol crisis news there. The arrest was made without any FIR or any complaint. Today Agartala journalists protested at the East PS and gheraoed East Agartala PS, Police headquarters.

College Tila Outpost OC-Arindam Roy was allegedly behind the act. Journalists have demanded punishment of the police official and his immediate suspension.
