AGARTALA, May 16 (TIWN): Congress sparked the fire of ongoing controversy over Biplab Deb’s stepdown. There have been rumours over possible causes behind Biplab Deb’s fall but from the central leadership, no proper cause was shown. In such a condition, Congress asked the BJP High Command to why overnight such a serious decision was taken which could not be taken earlier amid many BJP MLAs, leaders, kariyakartas were quitting the party. Addressing press meet, Asish Saha said, “Recently from Home Minister to Prime Minister all have visited Tripura and praised Biplab Deb as the best CM in Tripura. Earlier when BJP leaders were demanding Biplab Deb’s removal it was overlooked. When the Central leaders had full faith on Biplab Deb, what happened that he had to resign”.

“Biplab Deb had planned for next 25 years and said, till 2047, he will stay as the CM. Now, what was so serious in the middle that within a day, such a decision was taken?”, said Asish Saha.
