AGARTALA / BISHLAGRAH, April 19 (TIWN): In a tragic incident a patient died without proper treatment as he could not be referred to other hospitals from Bishalgarh. On being asked, the on-duty Doctor said, as the person had no family member with him, so he could not be referred. The Doctor also stated that the patient was brought at 8.30 pm whereas he died at 10 pm. It has been alleged that the man died without getting proper treatment and family alleged negligence.
Question raises, does such an emergency patient really need a family member to get referred ? A person may meet with an accident in any state of India, where his/ her family can not be present. Does it mean that the person will not get proper treatment for that ?
The deceased has been identified as Amar Bhowmik. Family members said, when he reached hospital his body was laying on floor.
