AGARTALA, March 21(TIWN): Increasing deadliest disease like Cancer in the state Tripura for extreme usage of Tobacco as per a survey has erupted tension. To reduce the usage of Tobacco, the National Health Mission organised one-day seminar. The seminar took place at Pragya Bhawan in Agartala.
An official in the seminar programme stated that if awareness is not spread then cancer, heart, and lungs related diseases that happen from smoking will be increased.
Another official of NHM during the programme said that National Tobacco Control Programme is a major programme under National Health Mission and the programme is operated based on State Control cell and District Control cell.
As per survey, it has been noticed that almost 65% of adults consume smokes and after spreading awareness by Field Worker, District Consultant, Psychologists, Social Worker supports, the percent has reduced to 55%, said the official.
