SANTIR BAZAR / AGARTALA, March 20 (TIWN): Swapna Reang, a 43-year-old terminated teacher from the Bagafa area of Santir Bazar in South Tripura, passed away this morning at 5 am. Condoling her death, Joint Movement Committee (JMC) leader Kamal Deb said, “We are saddened by her unexpected death. He has died out of mental tensions which affected her body. No proper treatment could be done due to financial crisis. She left her husband and daughter behind her. So far the death toll has raised to 130”. JMC requested CM Biplab Deb to take steps to solve their 10323 teachers’ issue. On March 15, amid peaceful protests, many of the terminated 10323 teachers were injured in police brutality near Secretariat.

The terminated teachers wanted to meet CM Biplab Deb and as per schedule, the terminated teachers gathered at Astabal stadium. During their procession to Secretariat, the 10323 teachers were obstructed by police. After that a tussle had developed between teachers and police and then police allegedly imposed lathi-charge where at least 3 teachers were injured.
The terminated teachers wanted to meet CM Biplab Deb but till now no appointment was given by CMO.
Tripura police’s brutal face however can be seen infront of citizens whereas police act like political servants in front of BJP’s bike and helmet gang.
