AGARTALA, March 2 (TIWN): Tripura Congress Incharge, National leader Dr. Ajay Kumar on Wednesday while addressing media in Agartala expressed shocks over Tripura Police’s investigation style on 26th February political violence incident centering Congress's peaceful rally and CM Biplab Deb’s statement over “helmet gang”. Ajay Kumar said, “The condition of Tripura is worse than Kaliyug. People of Tripura are generally known as peace lovers and unfortunately, the people of Tripura got such a goonda Govt. We will meet the family members of the Congress youths who were arrested but I must say, I am very proud of the youth leaders of our state Tripura. I really did not know that Congress has that much of brave youths in the party".
"Congress party will be forever with the people who have been falsely sent to jail”, said Dr. Kumar.
“We have also lodged two FIRs including Minister’s name but our complaint was not taken, not investigated. Video-records show how the Congress Bhawan was attacked. On 26th February at first BJP held the attack with helmet gang but Chief Minister’s such statement is shocking”, said Ajay Kumar.
The statement came countering CM Biplab Deb's claim that the helmet gang were common bikers.
He further asked, why police did not take action against the BJP who provoked tension during Congress rally at Dharmanagar yesterday.
