AGARTALA, Feb 25 (TIWN): Alleging the Govt has not fulfilled their demands, the “Tripura’s United Indigenous Returnees People’s Council” had announced a 24 hours strike in Tripura on 25th February. However, after Govt asked them to hold a talk, the strike was withdrawn.
The organization’s members also had submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary ahead of the strike.
They said, they have various pending demands but even after repeated requests, the Govt has not taken action to resolve the matters forcing them to go on strike.
The national highway was blocked for hours since morning. However, as the strike has been withdrawn, the road has been opened for normal traffic movements.
