AGARTALA, Feb 20 (TIWN): Amtali PS police were ambushed in Amtali bypass, checking Naka-Point. Suddenly Police noticed a Cruiser vehicle register number- TR01D3476 and asked the driver to stop it, but the driver leaving the vehicle escaped from the spot.

After a search the Amtali PS police recovered 4000 bottles of Phensedyl from 40 cartons. The operation was done under the leadership of Amtali PS SI Suresh Debbarma, SI Dilip Das and ASI Pradip Das.

The recovered contraband items estimated price would be over Rs 10lakhs. The Police lodged a case and have started an investigation. The investigation under Process.
