AGARTALA, Feb 17 (TIWN): Tripura Village Committee Elections' delay has been erupted resentment among the regional parties and in this regard a deputation was placed to Governor by Tipra Motha Party.
Regional Party TIPRA MOTHA has demanded immediate Village Council Election in the state without further delays.
Earlier before ADC Election in 2021, the TIPRA MOTHA Party had to go to High Court to compel the Election Commission for the ADC Election’s announcement. The Village Committees reportedly lapsed 11 months back but there is no initiative yet to conduct the election. Through the West District DM, a Deputation was placed to the Governor seeking immediate Election completion.
TIPRA Motha leader Rabindra Debbarma said, “Although local urban body polls were conducted without any delay, there is no initiative to complete the Village Committee elections. This will deprive the Tiprasa Community and all ADC areas' people of financial, developmental benefits. So we have appealed the Governor to take initiative to complete the Poll at the earliest”.
