Reportedly, Khowai Police had information of drug trading in a cloth store named Sreema Emporium in front of the Co-operative Bank in Khowai Subhash Park.

Based on this, Police conducted a raid in the cloth store and recovered 2.4gm Brown Sugar whose market value would be Rs 2.5 Lakh.

Police detained the Cloth store owner Anjan Dutta, a resident of Ganki Koraitala.

A case has been filed against Anjan Dutta under Section 22A and 22NDPS Act. Police have started an investigation to find out who else is involved in this drug trafficking network.
